Homem deitado sob uma árvore florida
1903
Paula Modersohn-Becker captures a quiet, sun-drenched moment in the countryside with this expressive 1903 piece. A blossoming tree stretches its branches across a pale sky, casting a dark, shadowy figure resting peacefully beneath it. The bold, sweeping brushstrokes and earthy palette of ochre and rust hint at her pioneering role in early Expressionism, breaking away from strict realism to capture pure feeling. It's a serene, almost dreamlike scene that invites you to lie down in that warm grass and take a nap yourself.
