御殿場眺望富士山
1929
Yoshida Hiroshi’s 1929 masterpiece captures Mount Fuji in all its majestic, snow-draped glory, looming large over the dark, rugged landscape of Gotemba. As a leading figure of the Shin-hanga (new prints) movement, Yoshida breathed new life into traditional Japanese woodblock printing by blending Western realism with Eastern aesthetics. Notice how the deep purples and blues of the mountain's shadowed slopes contrast beautifully with the brilliant white snowcap and the pale sky. This print is part of his famous 'Ten Views of Mt. Fuji' series, showcasing his lifelong obsession with Japan's most iconic peak.
