大衛·布萊斯是19世紀來自荷蘭北部的畫家。根據荷蘭藝術史研究所的記載，布萊斯十三歲時便因才華出眾而被海牙學院錄取。他於1834年至1837年以及1838年至1841年期間在該學院上課。 他成為畫家Cornelis Kruseman及其侄子Jan Adam Kruseman的學生。隨後，Bles前往法國，在巴黎師從Joseph-Nicolas Robert-Fleury。他在巴黎一直待到1843年，之後定居海牙，不過他在1845年至1899年間是阿姆斯特丹皇家藝術學院的成員。他繪製荷蘭繪畫史題材的作品，以肖像畫和風俗畫最為知名。
