프란츠 요한 하인리히 나도르프
로마의 독일 낭만파
프란츠 요한 하인리히 나도르프는 주로 로마에서 활동하며 살았던 독일 화가입니다. 나도르프는 이셀부르크의 예술가 가정에서 태어났다. 그는 요한 테오도어 나도르프와 게르트루트 안나 슈트루프의 외아들이었다. 안홀트 시립학교에서의 교육을 마친 후, 20세가 된 그는 동향인 잘름-잘름의 콘스탄틴 공의 장학금 지원을 받아 프라하 미술 아카데미에 입학했고, 그곳에서 요제프 베르글러에게 역사화를 배웠다. 나도르프는 베르글러의 총애받는 제자였다. 1822년 그는 아카데미의 금메달을 수상했다. 1826년 스승이 사망하자 나도르프는 프라하를 떠났고, 1827년 고향인 이셀부르크의 안홀트 지구로 돌아와 몇 달을 머물렀다. 1827년 가을, 나도르프는 동행자인 잘름-잘름 공자 프란츠와 함께 로마로 여행을 떠났다. 당시 로마는 페터 코르넬리우스, 요한 프리드리히 오베르베크, 율리우스 슈노르 폰 카롤스펠트와 같은 많은 독일 예술가들을 끌어들였다. 나도르프는 '나자레파'라 불리는 독일 예술가 그룹에 빠르게 녹아들었다. 그는 로마 예술가 연맹(1829년)과 독일 예술가 연합(1845년)의 창립 멤버 중 한 명이었다. 1840년에서 1850년 사이는 그의 가장 풍요로운 시기에 속한다. 수많은 드로잉이 현존하고 있다. 이 기간 동안 나도르프는 바이에른 왕 루트비히 1세를 만나 두 사람은 우정을 나누었다. 1859년 나도르프는 프로이센 왕 프리드리히 빌헬름 4세를 알현했고, 이로 인해 첫 정부 위촉을 받게 되었다. 나도르프는 로마에서의 거의 50년간의 활동 기간 동안 거의 로마를 떠나지 않았다. 1862년 그는 잠시 고향으로 돌아갔다. 그는 자신의 세례 교회인 성 판크라티우스 교회를 위해 제단화 '성전에서의 예수의 봉헌'을 제작했고, 철거 직전의 구시가지 교회를 스케치했다. 1876년 잘름-잘름 공작 알프레트 1세는 그에게 연금을 수여했다. 나도르프는 양식상 독일 낭만주의 화가로 간주되며, 그 직후 로마에서 사망하여 바티칸 성 베드로 대성당 옆 캄포 산토 테우토니코에 묻혔다. 그의 전 재산은 잘름-잘름 공작들에게 이전되었으며, 오늘날에도 바서부르크 안홀트 박물관과 성 판크라티우스 교구 교회에서 볼 수 있다.
