Wasted Clothing, Equipment is Another Ship Lost
Abram Games designed this striking British WWII poster to remind soldiers that every lost uniform or piece of gear meant another supply ship had to brave U-boat-infested waters. The bold, downward-pointing arrow visually drives home the message: wasting equipment literally sinks ships. Games, often called the 'first British graphic designer,' used stark geometry and limited colors to make his propaganda unforgettable. The soldier standing in the circle looks back at his gear, a subtle reminder that taking care of your kit is a matter of life and death for the crew bringing it over.
