Five Dragons Scroll - Main Painting 2
Chen Rong, a Southern Song Dynasty master, was the ultimate dragon painter of his time—so famous that his style was exported to Japan and influenced artists there for centuries. In this dramatic section of his 'Five Dragons' scroll, you don't even need to see the dragons to feel their power; the crashing waterfalls and churning, foam-flecked waves suggest mythical beasts lurking just beneath the surface. The ink wash technique creates a moody, atmospheric landscape where jagged rocks stand firm against the chaotic rush of water, capturing the raw, untamed energy of nature where legends were born.
