Three Flying Putti
Three chubby, winged toddlers—known as putti—are having a mid-air tumble in this dynamic Baroque scene by Flemish artist Cornelis Schut. He captures them in a chaotic swirl of clouds and flying birds, their bodies twisting and turning with incredible energy, almost like a heavenly playground fight. This kind of dramatic movement and emotional intensity was a hallmark of the Baroque era, designed to pull the viewer right into the action. You can almost feel the wind rushing past them as they chase each other through the sky.
