Portrait of Concierge Hénault
Eugène Giraud captures the imposing yet comical figure of a concierge, Monsieur Hénault, standing guard by a door with a tiny dog at his feet. Dressed in an oversized coat and a bicorne hat, the man's stern profile contrasts humorously with his rotund shape, showcasing Giraud's talent for caricature. This watercolor sketch brings 19th-century Parisian building life to life with just a few confident, expressive strokes.
