Red Deer in Winter
Franz Xaver von Pausinger captures a quiet, chilly moment in the Austrian Alps with this serene winter scene. A herd of red deer huddles together against the cold, their dark coats contrasting sharply with the pristine snow. Notice the majestic stag with his impressive antlers keeping watch in the background while the others rest or stand alert, ears perked up. Pausinger was a master of animal painting, and here his realistic style really shines, making you feel like you've just stumbled upon a secret forest gathering.
