Susanna is shown on the ground, looking up in panic as two older men grab her hair and try to overpower her. The scissors and comb scattered in the foreground reveal she was just grooming herself in the garden before being ambushed. Artists historically loved this story because it gave them a 'biblical excuse' to paint nude women, but this drawing focuses intensely on the violence and struggle rather than just the beauty.
