Crianças brincando
Gottfried Mind, a Swiss artist famously nicknamed the 'Raphael of Cats' for his adorable feline portraits, turns his gentle gaze toward human subjects in this lively scene. Titled 'Spielende Kinder' (Playing Children), the artwork captures a group of kids dressed in traditional Alpine folk costumes, caught in the middle of a game. One boy brandishes a stick like a sword, a girl waves enthusiastically, and another sits patiently cradling a toddler on her lap. This piece is a perfect example of the Romantic movement's obsession with the innocence of childhood and the simplicity of rural life, offering a sweet, nostalgic glimpse into 19th-century Swiss culture.
