Plat de service
1936
Long before he became the famous 'Poet of Prague' known for his moody photography, Joseph Sudek was exploring design. This 1936 sketch presents a 'Server Dish' with a reddish-brown exterior and creamy interior, shown in both a top-down view and a smaller side profile. The handwritten '3/4 Scale' note indicates this was a functional blueprint, likely for a ceramic object, capturing the clean, utilitarian spirit of 1930s Modernism where everyday items were treated with artistic precision.
