Forêt dense et pics lointains sur soie - Colophon
Think of this scroll as the ultimate VIP guestbook for a Chinese masterpiece. Instead of signatures, you see elegant columns of calligraphy and dozens of red collector seals stamped by owners over centuries. This specific section contains inscriptions praising Li Cheng's famous landscape 'Dense Forests and Distant Peaks,' with text dating back to 1490 where a scholar named Zhang Tianjun takes a break from his government duties to gush about the painting's 'heavenly interest.' It's a fascinating glimpse into how art critics and collectors have obsessed over authenticating and admiring this treasure for hundreds of years.
