Cloudy Mountains Scroll - Colophon 3
Think of this as a 600-year-old fan letter to a legendary artist! This image shows a colophon—an inscription added to a scroll—written by Ming Dynasty official Fang Mian in 1437. He uses fluid running script to praise Mi Youren (referred to here as Mi Yuanhui) and his famous misty 'cloud and mountain' landscapes, noting how rare and magical they are. The red seals stamped on the side act like ancient 'likes' from collectors, showing this piece has been cherished for centuries. It perfectly captures how Chinese art is a conversation across time, with later admirers adding their voices to the original masterpiece.
