Foehn in Marc's Garden
1915
Paul Klee created this dreamy, geometric landscape during a visit to his friend Franz Marc's garden, capturing the warm, swirling 'Föhn' wind that blows through the Alps. Instead of realistic trees and mountains, Klee uses sharp triangles and blocks of moody purple, blue, and green to show how the wind feels rather than how it looks. A bright red square pops right in the middle, maybe representing a house or just a splash of energy against the cool tones. It's a perfect example of Expressionism, where emotions and inner experiences take center stage over strict reality.
