胡塞佩·德·里韦拉
意大利的西班牙暗绘大师
胡塞佩·德·里贝拉是一位西班牙裔意大利暗色调主义画家和版画家。里贝拉是西班牙画派的领军人物，尽管他的成熟作品全部在意大利完成。 里贝拉出生于西班牙瓦伦西亚附近的哈蒂瓦。他渴望在意大利学习艺术，于是经由帕尔马前往罗马，并于1611年为圣普罗斯佩罗教堂创作了《圣马丁与乞丐》（现已遗失）。据一种说法，一位枢机主教注意到他在罗马一座宫殿立面的湿壁画前临摹，便为他提供了住所。罗马艺术家给他起了个绰号“小西班牙人”。 里贝拉去世后，他的作品依然流行，这在很大程度上归功于卢卡·焦尔达诺等学生在画作中对残酷题材的超自然主义描绘。
