Two Dragons Scroll, Paper, 40x180
Song Dynasty master Chen Rong was legendary for painting dragons while drunk, splashing ink to create these swirling, atmospheric forms. In this dramatic handscroll, mythical beasts emerge from a misty, rocky landscape, their scales cleverly camouflaged against cliffs and ancient trees. Legend has it his dragons were so realistic they would sometimes fly off the page, blurring the line between art and magic.
