Ink Dragon Scroll - Painting Core
Chen Rong's fierce dragon bursts through swirling, ink-washed clouds with an intensity that practically leaps off the scroll. Painted during the Southern Song dynasty, this masterpiece captures the mythical creature's raw power, with its serpentine body twisting dramatically as it emerges from the dark mist. The artist was so famous for his dragon paintings that a Chinese proverb eventually emerged: 'Following in the footsteps of Chen Rong,' meaning to imitate a master. The moody atmosphere and masterful brushwork make the dragon feel alive, as if it might roar and fly right out of the frame.
