Puck July 4th
1904
Frank Arthur Nankivell created this vibrant cover for *Puck* magazine to celebrate Independence Day in 1904, capturing the festive spirit of the era. A glamorous woman in a flowing, ruffled green gown triumphantly holds a waving American flag as she appears to ride a massive, exploding firework into the sky. Flanking her are two colonial drummers in blue uniforms and tricorn hats, beating a rhythm for the patriotic spectacle. The bold, fiery "Puck" title at the top sets the tone for this colorful, Art Nouveau-inspired celebration of American patriotism.
