Railway Equipment is War Equipment
Fred Taylor’s 1943 poster turns a mundane train station into a high-stakes military highway. Under the bold warning that 'Railway Equipment is War Equipment,' steam engines are depicted hauling massive artillery guns and tanks, proving that logistics win wars just as much as firepower. The dizzying high-angle view shows just how much heavy machinery was moving through Britain, reminding citizens that the railways were a critical target and a vital lifeline. It’s a perfect example of how the British government used art to keep morale and focus high during the darkest days of WWII.
