전능하신 하나님
Jan van Eyck (along with his brother Hubert) created this majestic figure for the central panel of the famous Ghent Altarpiece, completed in 1432. Dressed in heavy, shimmering red robes and a towering, jewel-encrusted papal tiara, the figure—often identified as God the Father—blends religious and royal authority, with a golden crown resting at his feet to symbolize supremacy over earthly kings. This masterpiece of the Northern Renaissance is celebrated for its hyper-realistic textures, but it's equally famous for its chaotic history; it’s been stolen by Napoleon, hidden in a salt mine during WWII, and is often cited as the most stolen artwork in history.
