Landscape Album P07
Ming dynasty master Dong Qichang created this album leaf as a perfect example of his 'literati' style, where expressive brushwork matters just as much as the subject itself. Notice how the misty mountains fade softly into the background while the dark, textured trees in the foreground pop out with energy? Dong was actually a huge art critic too, and he famously argued that amateur scholar-painters were superior to professional court artists. This little landscape feels like a quiet moment of meditation, capturing the spiritual essence of nature rather than just a realistic copy.
